Job Description:

  • The Workday Student Consultant specializes in the implementation and configuration of Workday Student, supporting higher education institutions in transforming student lifecycle management including admissions, academic records, financial aid, student finance, advising, and curriculum management.
  • This role requires deep knowledge of higher education business processes and Workday Student functionality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Registrar, Admissions, Financial Aid, and Student Finance stakeholders to analyze current processes and define Workday Student configuration requirements.
  • Configure Workday Student modules including Academic Foundation, Student Records, Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Finance, and Advising.
  • Design and document academic unit and program structures, course catalog, and academic period definitions.
  • Support the development of functional design documents, configuration workbooks, and academic data migration strategies.
  • Participate in data conversion activities for student records, course history, and financial aid data.
  • Lead and facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) with registrar and enrollment management teams.
  • Develop training materials and deliver end-user training for academic staff, advisors, and financial aid officers.
  • Provide post-go-live support and assist with ongoing configuration optimization.
  • Monitor Workday Student release updates and advise clients on feature adoption opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Required Skills / Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Workday Student implementation experience
  • Configuration: Academic Foundation, Records, Admissions, FA
  • Understanding of FERPA and higher education regulatory requirements
  • Experience with student data migration and conversion
  • Strong facilitation and documentation skills
  • Ability to work with academic stakeholders at all levels

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Workday Student Certification or Workday Pro designation
  • Experience at an institution of higher education (IHE)
  • Familiarity with accreditation and academic policy workflows
  • Multi-institution or System Office Workday deployment experience
  • Experience with Workday Financial Aid or Student Finance modules
  • Familiarity with Ellucian Banner or PeopleSoft Campus Solutions (migration)

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Higher Education Administration, or related field. Workday Student Certification strongly preferred.
