Job description

Avaap is seeking a Workday Student Data Conversion Consultant. This client-facing consulting role is responsible for leading and executing data conversion activities for Workday Student implementations, helping colleges and universities successfully migrate legacy student data into Workday.
The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in data conversion strategy, higher education business processes, and Workday Student implementations. This individual will partner closely with functional consultants, technical teams, and client stakeholders to deliver high-quality data migrations that support successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities
  • Lead Workday Student data conversion workstreams throughout the implementation lifecycle.
  • Analyze legacy Student Information Systems and develop comprehensive data conversion strategies.
  • Design and document data mapping, transformation logic, validation rules, and reconciliation processes.
  • Prepare, cleanse, transform, validate, and load student data into Workday using Workday data loading tools.
  • Execute mock conversions, production conversions, and post-load validation activities.
  • Collaborate with functional consultants across Student Records, Academic Foundation, Curriculum, Admissions, Student Financials, Financial Aid, and related Workday Student areas.
  • Partner with client stakeholders to identify and remediate data quality issues.
  • Facilitate client workshops focused on conversion readiness, data governance, and conversion planning.
  • Support project planning, cutover activities, defect resolution, and production deployment.
  • Provide recommendations for improving conversion processes, templates, and delivery methodologies.

What You'll Bring
  • Deep expertise leading ERP or Workday data conversion efforts.
  • Demonstrated success delivering Workday Student implementations or higher education ERP implementations.
  • Strong understanding of student lifecycle data and higher education business processes.
  • Expertise developing data mapping documents, transformation rules, reconciliation reports, and validation strategies.
  • Experience working with legacy Student Information Systems such as Banner, PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Colleague, Jenzabar, Anthology Student, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex data issues.
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools to prepare and validate large datasets.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities across concurrent client engagements.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional client service while building trusted advisor relationships.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional consulting teams.

Preferred Experience
  • Workday Student implementation experience.
  • Experience converting data from multiple legacy Student Information Systems.
  • Experience with Workday Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB).
  • Experience using SQL or similar query tools for data validation and reconciliation.
  • Experience supporting higher education institutions through ERP modernization initiatives.
  • Workday Data Conversion certification required.

Pay Transparency
Compensation for roles at Avaap varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific business unit, team, role, skillset, and level of expertise. As required by law, Avaap provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired.
Base Salary Range: $95,000 - $130,000, plus 15% variable compensation is available for this specific role. At Avaap it is not typical to be hired at the top of the base salary range.
During the interview process, alignment to level will be determined and should level differ from the position applied for, a new compensation range will be provided for the appropriate role.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.

  • Ability to work remotely or out of one of Avaap's physical office locations.
  • Current permanent U.S. work authorization required.
