NetSuite Fixed Assets Implementation Specialist (Project-Based)
Duration: Estimated 8 12 weeks, aligned with NetSuite Fixed Assets Management (FAM) implementation and stabilization
Grant funded seasonal position for Summer 2026
Department: Finance
Reports To: CFO
Position Summary
The AmeriCorps NetSuite Fixed Assets Implementation Specialist is a project-based role responsible for leading the implementation of the NetSuite Fixed Assets Management (FAM) module. This role partners with Finance and NetSuite implementation partners to ensure accurate configuration, data migration, testing, and user enablement. The position ensures alignment with accounting standards, internal controls, and NetSuite best practices. This is not a staff role, but a paid service volunteer position through Red River Community Corps.

Key Responsibilities
Lead configuration of the NetSuite Fixed Assets Management (FAM) module, including asset categories, depreciation methods, books, useful lives, and conventions
Assess current listing of Fixed Assets to determine what assets should be migrated and identify assets that should be written off before implementation
Identify asset lifecycle workflows including acquisition, depreciation, transfers, write-offs, and disposals
Oversee fixed asset data migration from legacy systems, including validation and reconciliation to the general ledger
Execute testing plans including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
Support go-live activities, depreciation runs, and post-implementation stabilization
Develop NetSuite-specific documentation, procedures, and job aids for fixed asset processes
Train accounting and finance users on NetSuite FAM functionality and ongoing maintenance
Qualifications
Experience with data conversion, testing, and reconciliations
Comfort working with remote implementation partners
Preferred Qualifications
  • College credit in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in fixed assets accounting and/or financial systems
Implementation
Hands-on experience with NetSuite, including Fixed Assets Management (FAM)
Prior participation in a NetSuite implementation or optimization project
Experience working with NetSuite implementation partners or consulting firms
Familiarity with NetSuite reporting, saved searches, or SuiteAnalytics
Success Criteria
  • NetSuite FAM module implemented on time and in alignment with accounting requirements
  • Clean and accurate fixed asset data migrated and fully reconciled
  • End users trained and capable of independently performing fixed asset activities
  • Minimal post-go-live issues or manual workarounds related to fixed assets.
