Job description

The Washington, DC office of a large international law firm is seeking an experienced legal professional to join their team of executive support professionals. The Executive Assistant/Legal Secretary will provide executive administrative support to a busy litigation partner in a 1:1 pairing. While prior litigation experience and knowledge is helpful, this position is more aligned with executive assistant responsibilities, requiring strong organizational skills, judgment, scheduling, calendar management, and the ability to anticipate needs. The firm offers a 35-work week and hybrid schedule.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting attorneys at a high-level, proactive, and confident interacting with senior stakeholders.

Day to Day Job Duties:
  • Manage heavy calendar, deadlines, and meeting coordination
  • Read, sort, and prioritize emails; identify key client contacts
  • Handle travel arrangements and expense reimbursements (Chrome River)
  • Input time entries (InTapp); liaise with Billing Department
  • Prepare correspondence and documents (MS Word)
  • Screen calls, maintain files, operate office equipment
  • Support personal projects (e.g., mailings, communications)
  • Interact confidently with senior stakeholders, including clients and officials
Qualifications:
  • Minimum three years executive administrative experience, preferably in a law firm
  • Experience supporting a litigation practice a plus
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree preferred
  • Flexibility to work 2-3 hours of OT/week.
