Job description

A mid-sized San Antonio insurance defense litigation firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary / Legal Assistant to support a busy team of attorneys handling civil and insurance defense matters.

This role is ideal for an experienced litigation legal secretary, though experienced litigation paralegals comfortable performing legal secretary duties will also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate scheduling for depositions, mediations, hearings, and attorney meetings
  • Schedule court reporters, videographers, and interpreters
  • Manage litigation calendars and docket deadlines
  • Prepare and file pleadings with state and federal courts (e-filing)
  • Handle service of pleadings via email and electronic systems
  • Maintain and organize litigation case files
  • Assist with travel arrangements and logistics for attorneys
  • Support a team of litigation attorneys in a fast-paced insurance defense practice

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Litigation Legal Secretary or Litigation Legal Assistant
  • Experience supporting civil litigation attorneys
  • Strong knowledge of court filings, deadlines, and litigation procedures
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and attorney schedules
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

Preferred

  • Insurance defense litigation experience
  • Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a litigation environment
