Job description

Summary:
The candidate will be responsible for administrative case management and litigation support.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Formatting briefs, pleadings, and other legal documents
  • Drafts, revises, and assembles contracts
  • Filing legal documents (e-filing skills are preferred)
  • Organized and proficient with technology and the development of systems to increase efficiency.
  • Capable of tracking deadlines and moving forward with case progress.
  • Use technical knowledge and experience to evaluate documents and prepare presentation material related to construction claims.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and appellate documents and file them with the court
  • Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes
  • Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
  • Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests
  • Gather relevant information from a variety of sources
  • Liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties
  • Assist with case settlements
  • Prepare exhibits for motions

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to work successfully with multiple team members, interacting with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Competent to handle a variety of activities with attention to detail and quality, with the ability to follow through and follow up, and adapt quickly to meet changing deadlines and priorities.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Retain a high level of flexibility and resourceful problem-solving.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.

Educational and Experience Requirements:
  • 2-5 years of law firm experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant preferred
  • High School Diploma required
  • Paralegal Certificate preferred

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • In office position
  • Ability to work extended hours when necessary.
  • Normal office environment; no unusual physical demands.
