Job description

Dinsmore is seeking a Litigation Paralegal at our Morgantown, WV location.

Responsibilities

  • Review and summarize medical records and deposition transcripts
  • Prepare notices of depositions and deposition exhibits
  • Communicate with experts and clients
  • Create and maintain case chronologies
  • Draft discovery requests and discovery responses
  • Assist in the draft of motions, responses, replies, and exhibits
  • Review and organize document productions for responsiveness, applying necessary redactions, and finalizing for production
  • Organize and manage document productions
  • Organize and maintain internal active case lists with applicable deadlines to the client, opposing counsel, and the court
  • Assist in the research of case law
  • Draft client update reports
  • Ability to work with Project Assistant, Clerks, and other staff to fulfill production needs
  • Ability to multi-task, carry a large caseload, and work overtime as needed
  • Other duties as requested

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or paralegal certificate is required
  • At least 5 years of litigation experience
  • Experience with complex labor and employment issues is desired 
  • Candidates must have experience reviewing and summarizing medical and other related records, summarizing depositions, scheduling depositions and independent medical evaluations, and document management experience
  • Strong knowledge and experience with discovery and subpoenas a must
  • Candidate should also possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be highly organized, have strong technical and database skills and possess pre-trial experience
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Experience with ViewPoint and Trial Director knowledge is a plus
