Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in fact investigation, witness interviews, drafting pleadings and correspondence, legal research, document preparation and production, database management, docketing/case management, and overall client service.
- Prepare materials for and assist in preparation for depositions, hearings, and trials and related proceedings, and attend same if needed.
- Pre-trial preparation and trial attendance.
- Prepare draft pleadings and discovery.
- Coordinate filing of pleadings/documents and arrange for service.
- Collect and summarize medical and/or other records.
- Assist with calendaring/docketing.
- Act as a liaison between clients, colleagues, and experts to ensure timely communication of case information and production of materials.
- Stay informed of developments in the product liability practice areas and the Paralegal industry.
- Maintain professional demeanor and attitude.
- Comply with firm policies.
- Sustain attention to detail and quality of work.
- Learn/develop technical proficiency in database use and management; internet/electronic research; and project folder/electronic file maintenance.
- Independently organize and manage files.
- Anticipate attorney needs.
- Independently handle all key duties without supervision.
- Familiarity and experience with adopting legal AI and ability to learn and implement new AI preferred.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Bachelor's degree or paralegal certification from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 6-8 years of experience as a Mass Tort or Litigation Paralegal.
- Proficient in legal research, document management software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations in mass tort litigation is preferred.
