Description
This opportunity is a 6-month Contract-to-Hire role with DataField's client
Our client delivers AI-powered parking enforcement and compliance technology designed specifically for municipalities, airports, universities, and public agencies. Their integrated hardware and cloud-based software platform helps cities increase compliance, improve operational efficiency, and modernize parking enforcement programs.
As they continue to grow, we're seeking a driven Technical Operations Manager to support customers, commission systems, and help scale our operational processes from our Columbus office.
The Opportunity
This role combines Level 1 & Level 2 technical support, system commissioning, and operational coordination.
You'll primarily provide helpdesk services remotely from the office, ensuring customers' systems are functioning properly. You'll also activate newly installed systems, manage equipment logistics, and assist with project coordination.
This is not a passive help desk role. We're looking for someone who takes ownership, manages their own tasks proactively, and wants to grow with a scaling technology company.
This role requires in-depth knowledge of a variety of project implementation practices and field concepts for information systems.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
In-Depth knowledge with a variety of project implementation practices and field concepts for information systems.
Technical Support (Level 1 & 2)
  • Resolve parking session related questions, or vehicle detection license plate recognition (LPR) questions
  • Diagnosing camera connectivity and system communication problems
  • Perform remote diagnostics and issue resolution
  • Escalate complex issues appropriately while maintaining accountability

System Commissioning & Activation
  • Management of tasks for IT, Technical, and construction teams in planning, deployment, staging and production environment.
  • Commission and activate newly installed systems
  • Verify configuration and system performance
  • Ensure systems are fully operational prior to client handoff

Operations & Coordination
  • Order and receive hardware for specific projects
  • Track equipment inventory and deployment status
  • Coordinate with installation partners and internal teams
  • Assist with implementation and project workflows

On-Site Support (Limited)
  • Occasionally visit local sites to assist with troubleshooting
  • Support basic low-voltage diagnostics when necessary

What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years Information systems helpdesk experience / CCTV preferred, Including IT, networking, and hardware smart devices.
  • Ability to independently perform Level 1 and Level 2 troubleshooting
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (IP configuration, connectivity, hardware diagnostics)
  • Strong organizational skills and task ownership
  • Experience coordinating technical projects or workflows
  • Low-voltage experience is a plus
  • Self-motivated, driven, and proactive
  • Continually defines ways to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships

Work Environment
  • Full-time, in-office role in Columbus, OH
  • Monday-Friday schedule (8:00/8:30 AM - 5:00/5:30 PM)
  • Collaborative, growth-oriented team environment
  • Travel: Limited local/national site visits

Salary Description
$36 - $44 per hour
