Job Title: Technical Operations Manager
Reports To: General Manager amp; Corporate Technical Operations Manager
Location: Malibu Jack’s Thornton

At Malibu Jack’s, we create safe, exciting, and unforgettable experiences for families through modern indoor entertainment. From go-karts and laser tag to mini golf and bounce areas, our attractions are powered by strong technical operations and a dedicated maintenance team.

We’re seeking a Technical Operations Manager who is a hands-on leader, problem solver, and technical expert. This role oversees all aspects of facility maintenance, attraction performance, and technician leadership to keep everything running smoothly and safely.

What You’ll DoTeam Leadership amp; Oversight
  • Lead and supervise the maintenance team, including Attraction Technicians, Arcade Technicians, Custodial Technicians, Go-Kart Technicians, and Facility Technicians

  • Schedule team members for regular shifts, preventative maintenance, and special projects

  • Provide coaching, support, and hands-on assistance with major technical issues

  • Foster a safety-first, guest-focused, and accountable team culture

Attraction amp; Equipment Operations
  • Oversee, inspect, and maintain all attractions including go-karts, coasters, VR systems, bowling, laser tag, mini golf, kids’ bounce area, and arcade equipment

  • Ensure attractions are properly calibrated, clean, and fully operational

  • Perform and document regular safety audits and maintenance checks

  • Assist with software updates, license renewals, and troubleshooting for attraction systems and games

Preventative Maintenance amp; Repair
  • Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance schedules

  • Ensure timely completion of repairs with minimal downtime

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and repairs

  • Track and manage parts inventory; reorder supplies and components within budget

Facility amp; Vendor Management
  • Oversee maintenance of building systems including lighting, HVAC, projectors, and other infrastructure

  • Coordinate external contractors for major facility repairs and improvements

  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with service contracts

  • Ensure compliance with all safety, fire, and health regulations at local, state, and federal levels

Reporting amp; Communication
  • Maintain PM logs, safety records, and service reports

  • Provide regular maintenance and safety updates to the General Manager and Corporate Technical Operations Manager

  • Keep accurate records of stocked parts and equipment status

  • Communicate clearly and consistently with team members and other departments

Guest Support amp; Operational Backup
  • Be knowledgeable and able to operate attractions if needed to support team or guest experience

  • Support event and operations teams by preparing attractions for parties, group bookings, and high-volume times

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the facility

  • Respond quickly and professionally to urgent repairs and guest-impacting issues

Skills amp; Experience We’re Looking For
  • Strong leadership skills with a collaborative and safety-first mindset

  • Ability to read schematics, diagnose issues, and perform hands-on repairs

  • Excellent time management, organization, and attention to detail

  • Calm, proactive problem-solver with strong communication skills

  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and amusement systems preferred

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years old

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in technical operations, maintenance, or facilities management

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications a plus

  • Able to work up to 45 hours per week, including weekends and holidays

  • Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 39 lbs unaided
