ASSA ABLOY Door Group is seeking a Manager, Technical Operations - Specialized Openings to lead the customer-facing operations that support our growing Specialized Openings business.
Reporting to the Head of Specialized Openings, this role is accountable for the daily execution of customer-facing operations, leading Technical Project Managers, Customer Care teams, and Post-Production Assembly functions. The position ensures customers receive a seamless experience from quotation through delivery while fostering strong collaboration across sales, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and field stakeholders.
Success in this role will be measured by customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, on-time delivery, order accuracy, team development, and the ability to scale processes that support profitable growth.
What You Will Do as Our Manager, Technical Operations?
While the Head of Specialized Openings defines where we are going, the Manager of Technical Operations ensures we deliver on that promise to every customer, every day.
To achieve this, you will:
  • Lead Technical Project Management, Customer Care, Estimating, and Order Operations activities across the Specialized Openings business
  • Translate business, product, and market strategies into consistent operational and customer-facing execution
  • Develop and implement standardized workflows, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, elevate the customer experience, and support future growth
  • Ensure quotes, submittals, orders, and customer projects move efficiently, accurately, and on schedule
  • Partner closely with Product Management, Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Care teams to deliver best-in-class customer support
  • Drive a customer-centric operating model focused on responsiveness, communication, and accountability
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, application concerns, scope gaps, and margin exposure
  • Protect profitability through operational discipline and sound decision-making
  • Manage team capacity, priorities, and issue resolution to ensure operational effectiveness
  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing team focused on collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence
  • Participate in creating a safe and harmonious working environment
  • Assure compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate policies, regulations, AADG programs and policies, and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct

The Skills and Experience You Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations, project management, customer operations, technical services, estimating, order management, manufacturing, or a related environment
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and driving operational performance
  • Strong customer-facing experience with the ability to manage complex projects and stakeholder relationships
  • Experience developing and implementing process improvements that enhance efficiency and scalability
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to balance customer satisfaction, operational performance, and profitability
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate across multiple functions and levels of an organization

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within architectural openings, doors and hardware, building products, construction, specialty manufacturing, engineered products, or related industries
  • Experience supporting estimating, project management, order fulfillment, customer care, or technical services functions
  • Experience working within demountable walls or prefabricated construction environments
  • Lean, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, or other process improvement experience

Competitive compensation with a target salary range up to $150,000, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications
