Job description

Learning & Development SpecialistThe Learning & Development Specialist will work closely with the Learning & Development Lead and Learning & Development team members across the firm to guide and support learning and development initiatives for staff.ResponsibilitiesFacilitates digital learning for local and regional offices through hands-on classroom instruction, software demonstrations and briefings, workshops, one-on-one coaching, and virtual formats (e.g., webinar, videoconference).Collaborates virtually with the firmwide Learning and Development team; provides input into and executes firmwide digital learning strategy as directed by the Lead/Manager/Director/Chief to ensure a high-quality and consistent approach in all offices.Maintains business partner relationships with key office stakeholders (secretarial managers, paralegal managers, etc.) by meeting monthly to ensure delivery of onboarding curriculum and to consult on local learning needs. Communicates local learning needs back to L&D Leads to ensure consistency and coordination on any learning activities to be developed.Employs adult-learning and instructional-design models to create, collaborate on, and provide feedback on the design, development, and review of curriculum and learning documentation as requested by L&D Leads.Oversees scheduling of learning activities based upon availability of classrooms, equipment, and other relevant resources. Creates a monthly calendar of all learning activities and meetings. Develops communication methods to market learning activities.Works with the LMS Coordinator to enter classes and programs, maintain current and accurate data in the firm's Learning Management System, and generate class rosters, reports, and forms as requested.Develops and implements effective surveys to evaluate current learning offerings and assess learning needs.Identifies and recommends areas for continual improvement to ensure high-quality service.Stays up to date with current trends in project management, technology, instructional design, and facilitation.Collaborates on additional learning projects and performs other job-related duties as required.Requirements3+ years of experience with learning & development or technical trainingMust be proficient in the application of instructional design, curriculum design, adult-learning principles and measurement strategiesThorough knowledge of best practices and experience in facilitating training workshops and training programs virtually with remote participants via video conference and webinars.Understands and has experience with how to utilize all facets of remote training tools such as Webex and/or Adobe ConnectThorough knowledge of best practices of delivering instructor-led training in the classroom using best practices and in facilitating technology trainingAbility to deliver trainings both in the classroom and virtually with remote participants
