Job description

SUMMARY:
The Medical Records Associate is responsible for managing the medical records of patients. This includes scanning
documents into the system, as well as, retrieving and providing documents upon request.
DUTIES:
โ€ข Data entry (keyboard or scan) and retrieval of medical records for electronic distribution.
โ€ข Locate and electronically distribute medical records requested by patients, attorneys, chiropractors, and
healthcare facilities.
โ€ข Generate Invoices for medical record requests utilizing Microsoft Word.
โ€ข Scan medical information into EMR.
โ€ข Burn MRI and X-Ray discs from Med Strat (MRI and X-ray information system).
โ€ข Respond to incoming customer service calls regarding initial and pending requests for medical records.
โ€ข Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
โ€ข Strong time management and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
โ€ข Proven focus on quality, productivity, and thoroughness, while deadline-oriented.
โ€ข HIPPA and OSHA compliance; promote a safe work environment at all times.
โ€ข Professional demeanor toward patients and co-workers.
โ€ข Excellent communications and reporting skills.
โ€ข Clinical knowledge and terminology helpful.
โ€ข Working knowledge of computers, scanners, fax, copiers, and other technology.
โ€ข Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
โ€ข Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
โ€ข High School Diploma or GED required.
โ€ข Minimum 3-years medical records experience preferred.
