Medical Records Director
McClure Post Acute is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Records Director to join our team full time .
Pay: $28-$32 per hour
Benefits: Available
The Medical Records Director oversees the management, security, accuracy, and confidentiality of resident health records in compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations. This role ensures timely documentation, supports clinical and administrative staff, and maintains the integrity of medical information within our skilled nursing facility.
Essential Duties

  • Manage the creation, maintenance, organization, and storage of resident medical records in accordance with HIPAA and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation related to admissions, discharges, transfers, and clinical updates.
  • Monitor medical records for completion, accuracy, and compliance with facility policies and state and federal regulations.
  • Coordinate with nursing, therapy, and administrative teams to support documentation and medical record needs.
  • Process and respond to medical record requests from residents, families, legal representatives, healthcare providers, and other authorized parties.
  • Oversee electronic health record (EHR) systems and assist with troubleshooting documentation issues.
  • Train, guide, and supervise medical records staff, as applicable.
  • Prepare reports, audits, and documentation for internal and external review.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and safeguard protected health information.
  • Support survey readiness and respond to documentation-related inquiries from regulatory agencies.
  • Promote accurate, organized, and timely medical record practices throughout the facility.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in medical records, health information management, or a related healthcare setting preferred.
  • Experience in a skilled nursing or post-acute care facility is a plus.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, medical record requirements, and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records/EHR systems and standard office technology.
