Description

 The Records Associate is responsible to request and assemble relevant records, scan records, report communicable diseases to the Department of Health, data entry, and document findings through quality assessment tools provided.  The Records Associate communicates directly with donation partners to obtain records and prepares charts for Medical Director Eligibility Review.  The Records Associate must perform all functions in accordance with standard operating procedures, all applicable state, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Record Coordination

  1. Manage record requests. 
  2. Assemble relevant records for donor eligibility determination and batch record release in a timely      manner.
  3. Track donors available for review and eligibility determination outcomes

Quality Assurance

  1. Maintain knowledge of and support VIVEX policies and procedures
  2. Maintain knowledge of appropriate regulatory, statutory, accreditation requirements, and current Good Tissue Practices
  3. Responsible for reporting all variances, errors, and deviations on all VIVEX initiated documentation to QA management. Participate in the investigation, implementation of corrective actions, and documentation of complaint files and deviation      reports, as needed.
  4. Participate in audits and inspections, as needed
  5. Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager and/or Director of Quality Assurance. 

Qualifications

Associate degree in Medical Assisting preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience in a medical environment familiar with medical terminology will be considered. Excellent interpersonal, telephone, verbal, and written communication skills required. Must demonstrate excellent organizational and record keeping skills. Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task in a high-pressure environment. Must gain knowledge of all regulations, laws, and/or standards that govern the tissue banking industry. Must demonstrate advance computer skills in the Microsoft platform.

Working conditions

Primarily, a quiet, office-oriented work environment. Some evening and weekend work may be required.


Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for prolonged periods of time. The employee may occasionally be required to pull, lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
