Job description

Job Title: Payroll Associate I (Timekeeping Associate)
Location:
St. Paul, MN 55117
Schedule: Mondayโ€“Friday | 8:00 AM โ€“ 4:30 PM

Position Summary:
The Payroll Associate I (Timekeeping Associate) is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely recording of employee time, attendance, and leave information. This role supports payroll operations by maintaining timekeeping records, auditing time entries, resolving discrepancies, and providing exceptional support to employees and managers regarding time-related inquiries. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and experience working with timekeeping and payroll systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, maintain, and update employee time and attendance records within the timekeeping system.
  • Review and audit employee time entries to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and labor regulations.
  • Assist employees and managers with timekeeping inquiries, corrections, approvals, and system navigation.
  • Collaborate with Payroll and Human Resources teams to ensure accurate integration of timekeeping data into payroll processing.
  • Generate, analyze, and distribute timekeeping reports for management review and internal audits.
  • Support employee onboarding and training related to timekeeping processes and systems.
  • Identify, investigate, and escalate timekeeping discrepancies, system issues, or policy violations as appropriate.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee records and ensure compliance with data privacy standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service while responding to timekeeping and attendance-related questions.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1โ€“2 years of experience in payroll, timekeeping, HR administration, or a related field.
  • Experience working with timekeeping systems such as Kronos, ADP, Workday, SAP, or similar platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher.
  • Experience with Workday Timekeeping.
  • Experience supporting a large, multi-site organization.
  • Knowledge of federal and state labor laws related to timekeeping, wage and hour compliance.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
