How much do part time recruiting jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 29, 2026, the average hourly pay for part time recruiting in the United States is $18.75, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $16.35 and $20.19 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What is the 70 30 rule in hiring?

The 70/30 rule in hiring suggests that 70% of the interview should focus on assessing a candidate's skills and experience, while 30% should evaluate cultural fit and soft skills. For part-time recruiting roles, balancing technical evaluation with interpersonal qualities is essential to find suitable candidates efficiently.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Part Time Recruiter, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Recruiter, you need a solid understanding of talent acquisition practices, strong organizational skills, and typically a background in human resources or related experience. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), job boards, and digital communication tools is essential. Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask help candidates stand out in this position. These skills ensure efficient candidate sourcing, effective communication with stakeholders, and successful placement of qualified talent even within limited working hours.

What is part time recruiting?

Part time recruiting refers to the process of hiring employees who work fewer hours than full-time staff, typically less than 35-40 hours per week. Part time recruiters may work internally for a company or with an agency, sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates for part time positions. This role is ideal for businesses needing flexible staffing or for individuals seeking a work schedule with reduced hours. Part time recruiting requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as an understanding of the company's staffing needs.

What is the 80/20 rule in recruiting?

In recruiting, the 80/20 rule suggests that approximately 80% of successful hires come from 20% of recruiting efforts or sources. For part-time recruiters, focusing on high-yield channels and targeted outreach can improve efficiency and candidate quality.

What are some common challenges faced by part-time recruiters, and how can they be managed effectively?

Part-time recruiters often face the challenge of balancing workload and time management, as they are responsible for sourcing and screening candidates within limited hours. This can lead to difficulties in maintaining consistent communication with both hiring managers and candidates. To manage these challenges, it's important to prioritize tasks, leverage applicant tracking systems for efficiency, and set clear expectations with the team regarding availability. Additionally, collaborating closely with full-time recruitment staff and keeping up-to-date with job requirements can help ensure a smooth workflow and successful placements.

What jobs make 5000 a week without a degree?

Part-time recruiting roles typically do not pay $5,000 a week; high earnings in recruiting usually come from full-time positions or commission-based roles. Jobs that can reach this level without a degree often include sales, real estate, or entrepreneurial ventures where income depends on performance and client volume. Success in these fields requires strong communication skills, networking, and sometimes industry-specific certifications or licenses.

Can I do recruiting part-time?

Part-time recruiting roles are common and typically involve flexible schedules, allowing individuals to work fewer hours than full-time positions. These roles often require strong communication skills and familiarity with applicant tracking systems but may not always require extensive experience or certifications.
