Job Summary
GetWell HealthSystems is seeking a professional, organized, and patient-focused Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team in Jeffersonville, Indiana. The Medical Receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors while supporting the day-to-day administrative operations of the medical office.
The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, maintain accurate patient information, and help ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for every patient.
Key Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and visitors in a friendly, professional, and compassionate manner.
  • Check patients in and out and ensure all required information is completed accurately.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, respond to general inquiries, and route calls to the appropriate department or provider.
  • Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments.
  • Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and eligibility.
  • Assist patients with registration, intake forms, and general administrative questions.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) system.
  • Collect co-pays, payments, and other patient balances when applicable.
  • Process referrals, medical records requests, faxes, messages, and other office documentation.
  • Coordinate communication between patients, providers, nurses, and other clinical staff.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies.
  • Monitor patient flow and communicate delays or scheduling concerns appropriately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front-desk and waiting-area environment.
  • Provide compassionate assistance to patients who may have questions or concerns.
  • Complete daily administrative and clerical tasks accurately and on time.
  • Support providers and clinical staff with front-office coordination as needed.

Qualifications
