About the Opportunity

Gibson Energy is expanding its Gateway crude export platform to meet growing customer demand, increased throughput, and rising operational complexity. Reporting to the Vice President, Crude Oil Exports, the Manager, Commercial Operations, will lead execution across scheduling, logistics, and commercial integration.

This is a high-impact senior level role accountable for optimizing terminal performance, delivering exceptional customer service, and driving long-term EBITDA growth.

What You'll Do

  • Lead Gateway commercial operations, including pipeline and marine scheduling, logistics coordination, and terminal execution
  • Supervise scheduling team and manage pipeline, tank, and vessel movements
  • Optimize loading windows, tank utilization, and terminal throughput, including multiple crude grades and fungible system opportunities
  • Oversee quantity and quality management, ensuring compliance with crude specifications and resolving customer support and resource requirements
  • Support time and accurate volumetrics, ticketing, BOLs, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Perform economic analysis to support commercial decisions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, trading, operations, and engineering
  • Maintain strong customer and external stakeholder relationships
  • Champion EH&S and ensure safe, compliant operations

Success in This Role Will Be Measured By

  • Throughput & Utilization: Increased vessel loading efficiency and terminal utilization rates
  • Schedule Reliability: On-time execution of pipeline receipts and vessel loadings
  • EBITDA Contribution: Identification and execution of incremental commercial opportunities (e.g., loading window optimization, new marketing opportunities with trading team)
  • Quality Performance: Ensure zero quality incidents and timely resolution of customer inquiries
  • Marine Risk Management: Minimize vessel demurrage, improve laytime performance, and support customer reverse lightering and disport requirements
  • Systems and Data: Timely and accurate volumetrics, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Customer Satisfaction: Strong feedback and retention across key accounts
  • Team Effectiveness: Scheduling team performance, coverage, and capability development
  • Safety Performance: Full compliance with EH&S standards and incident-free operations

What You Bring to the Role

  • 15+ years of experience in crude oil logistics, marketing, refining, or midstream operations
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Finance, or related field
  • Deep understanding of the global crude oil value chain and export logistics
  • Expertise in pipeline scheduling, marine operations, and terminal operations
  • Strong commercial judgment and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proven leadership and stakeholder management capability

Gibson Energy has a strong presence in the United States, due to the acquisition of the Gateway Terminal in Ingleside, Texas. This terminal is a world-class liquids terminal and export facility with very large crude carrier (VLCC) capabilities and direct pipeline connections to key basins like the Permian and Eagle Ford. The acquisition strengthens Gibson's cash flow with over 95% of the revenue under take-or-pay contracts with high-quality counterparties.
