Job description

Responsibilities / Position overview
The Commercial Operations Associate enables efficient day-to-day commercial operations for the Market Access team by coordinating project pricing and approvals, maintaining accurate pipeline data across systems, and managing commercial content and collateral.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Pricing & Costing Execution: Build project pricing and costing calculations in Kantata (project budgeting and costing system) using inputs from Account Leads, Project Leads, and stakeholders to produce complete and internally consistent budgets for review.

  • Margin & Exception Review: Review available margin information, validate key assumptions and inputs, and flag missing information or exceptions to the appropriate owners to prevent delays and rework.

  • Out-of-Pocket Budgeting: Capture Out-of-Pocket (OOP) budget inputs with Project Leads and document assumptions clearly to improve pricing accuracy and downstream delivery planning.

  • Change Order Pricing Updates: Update pricing and budgeting details for change orders by revising inputs and ensuring the latest figures are reflected accurately and routed through the correct internal process.

  • Commercial Approvals Coordination:Manage discount approval workflows by gathering required inputs (discount level, rationale, and supporting context), maintaining organized documentation, and following up to ensure timely completion and auditability.

  • Delivery Readiness Gatekeeping:Partner with Project Management to obtain delivery readiness approvals by confirming required inputs are complete, submitted on time, and documented in alignment with team expectations.

  • Pipeline Data Ownership:Own pipeline data entry and upkeep in NetSuite (enterprise resource planning system) by maintaining accurate opportunity attributes and segmentation tags to improve forecasting and leadership visibility.

  • Weekly Pipeline Review Leadership:Lead the weekly pipeline review meeting by preparing and circulating the pipeline view and agenda, confirming updates with Account Leads and Sales, capturing actions and decisions, tracking follow-through, and escalating blockers that stall progress.

  • Customer Relationship Management Enablement: Reinforce standard Salesforce (customer relationship management system) workflows by answering process questions, documenting "how-to" steps, coordinating issue resolution with system administrators, and aligning Salesforce and NetSuite records to reduce duplication.

  • Benchmarks & Collateral Management:Maintain historical pricing benchmarks and organize Market Access collateral (sales materials, capability presentations, case studies, sample proposals, reusable language, and bios) by applying version control and consistent repository structure so teams can quickly find current, approved content.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent practical experience); field of study not required, but business, finance, operations, economics, or related disciplines are preferred.

  • 0-2 years of experience (including internships, co-ops, or entry-level roles) in operations, sales operations, business coordination, finance support, consulting operations, or professional services.

  • Demonstrated comfort working with numbers and structured data, including checking calculations and identifying inconsistencies in inputs.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, including using basic formulas; pivot table capability is preferred.

  • Experience with or exposure to commercial systems such as Kantata, NetSuite, or Salesforce (customer relationship management system), gained through coursework, internships, or professional experience.

  • Ability to run structured recurring meetings, capture decisions and action items, and communicate clear next steps to multiple stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated follow-through across multiple parallel requests and deadlines.

  • Ability to maintain organized documentation and apply discretion when handling sensitive commercial or client information.

  • Interest in life sciences, pharmaceutical/biotechnology consulting, Market Access, or commercial operations environments.

Benefits
We offer our employees a comprehensive benefits package that focuses on what matters to you - health and well-being, personal finances, professional development, and a healthy work/life balance:
