What are some common challenges Educational Recruiters face when sourcing qualified candidates for academic positions?

Educational Recruiters often encounter challenges such as a limited pool of specialized candidates, especially for roles requiring advanced degrees or niche expertise. Balancing the needs of academic departments with institutional hiring policies can also be complex, as can coordinating schedules for interviews with faculty and administration. Additionally, recruiters must remain up-to-date with changing certification requirements and ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the process. Overcoming these challenges requires strong networking skills, adaptability, and a deep understanding of the education sector.

What Does an Education Recruiter Do?

The responsibilities of an education recruiter include creating recruitment strategies for hiring academic talent that meets or exceeds a school’s expectations. In this career, you become partners with school leaders and human resources and help them determine their needs. Other duties include screening, recruiting, and interviewing the most suitable candidates. You are also expected to communicate the school’s culture, values, and offerings in a compelling way. You are then responsible for developing and running marketing campaigns, including email strategies, information sessions, and networking events, to ensure your school is present and known to potential candidates. You run metrics of open positions on a regular basis and track which marketing avenues are providing the best leads.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of recruiting, relationship management, and sales-driven staffing in a high-energy environment where performance and growth are valued.

What You'll Do

  • Own the full recruitment and placement process from sourcing and outreach to interviews, offers, and successful placements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with education professionals, serving as a trusted advisor throughout their career journey.
  • Develop and manage an active candidate pipeline through calls, texts, referrals, networking, and outreach strategies.
  • Partner closely with sales and credentialing teams to deliver exceptional experiences for candidates and clients.
  • Stay engaged with professionals while on assignment to ensure satisfaction and identify future placement opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate candidate information and activity within CRM/ATS systems.
  • Represent our company values of Others First, Wisdom, and Growth in every interaction.

What We're Looking For

  • 1+ years of recruiting, staffing, sales, customer service, or relationship-management experience.
  • Education, healthcare, or staffing experience is a plus but not required.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence building relationships over phone, text, and email.
  • Competitive, goal-oriented mindset with motivation to succeed in a performance-driven environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable learning and using CRM/ATS platforms and technology tools.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred (high school diploma or equivalent required).

Why Join Us?

  • Hybrid work flexibility with a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Career growth opportunities within staffing, recruiting, and leadership paths.
  • Ongoing professional development and coaching.
  • Opportunity to make a direct impact in K-12 education nationwide.
  • Culture built around Growth, Wisdom, and putting Others First.

Ready to Build Careers and Make an Impact?

If you're excited by relationship-building, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want a career that combines staffing, sales, and meaningful work-we'd love to meet you.
