As of Jul 13, 2026, the average yearly pay for division recruiter in the United States is $53,004.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $42,000.00 and $60,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What is the highest paying recruiter job?

Senior executive recruiters, such as executive search consultants or headhunters, tend to have the highest earning potential among recruiter roles, often earning six-figure salaries plus commissions. These positions typically require extensive industry experience, strong networks, and specialized skills in sourcing high-level talent.

What is the 70 30 rule in hiring?

The 70/30 rule in hiring suggests that 70% of a candidate's evaluation should focus on their skills, experience, and qualifications, while 30% should consider cultural fit and soft skills. For a Division Recruiter, applying this rule helps ensure a balanced assessment of technical ability and team compatibility during the hiring process.

What are red flags for recruiters?

Red flags for a Division Recruiter include inconsistent or exaggerated resume information, lack of relevant experience or skills, poor communication or responsiveness, and a pattern of high turnover or frequent job changes. These indicators can suggest issues with candidate reliability or fit for the role, which recruiters need to assess carefully during the hiring process.

What is the typical fee for a headhunter?

For a Division Recruiter or staffing agency, the typical fee for a headhunter is usually between 15% and 25% of the candidate's first-year total compensation. Some firms may charge a flat fee or retainer, especially for executive-level placements, and fees are often paid by the employer upon successful hire. It's important to clarify fee structures and services before engaging with a recruiter.
