Accounts Payable Manager
Location: Bethesda, MD (Onsite)
Employment Type: Direct Hire / Full-Time

Overview:
A well-established residential property management organization is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to oversee full-cycle AP operations across a diverse portfolio of affordable housing communities. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, process-driven professional who can ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency while managing vendor relationships and supporting a high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full-cycle accounts payable process across corporate and property portfolios
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and expense allocations
  • Maintain strong internal controls and adherence to company policies
  • Ensure all payments and transactions comply with internal policies and industry regulations
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation to support year-end audits and financial reviews
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors and utility providers
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues with professionalism and accuracy
  • Evaluate and enhance AP workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and automation
  • Leverage property management accounting systems to streamline processes
  • Partner with Property Managers, Regional Managers, and leadership to support financial operations
  • Assist with month-end close and ensure deadlines are met consistently
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of accounts payable experience, with property management experience preferred
  • Experience managing AP processes in a high-volume, multi-entity environment
  • Proficiency with Yardi, RealPage, or similar property management systems
  • Strong understanding of AP processes, internal controls, and accounting principles
  • Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
