Contracts Accounts Payable Specialist

Onsite: Fort Worth, Texas

As a Contracts AP Specialist, you’ll play a key role in keeping our financial operations running smoothly. From managing invoices to supporting audits, your work will directly contribute to the reliability, compliance, and efficiency that our teams and the people we serve depend on.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage the full accounts payable cycle from invoice receipt to payment
  • Code invoices, obtain approvals, and enter them into the accounting system
  • Prepare check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers
  • Ensure compliance with AP policies, procedures, and HIPAA standards
  • Oversee IRS 1099 reporting and compliance requirements
  • Maintain imaging and retention of AP documentation
  • Build strong vendor relationships and resolve payment issues
  • Support audit requests by gathering documentation and records
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and account inquiries
  • Assist with special projects and process improvements as needed

Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or 3–5 years of directly related AP experience

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines with quick turnaround expectations
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Experience with Great Plains is a plus
