Position Overview:
Silco Fire amp; Security is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented AP Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for the day-to-day execution of accounts payable operations by working closely with inventory, service supervisors, operations managers, and leadership to process PO and non-PO invoices accurately and on time. Responsibilities include maintaining AP records, managing vendor setup and accounts in the ERP system, reviewing weekly aging reports, issuing payments via check, ACH, and credit card, processing daily branch check requests, reconciling petty cash, and completing monthly vendor statement reviews. The position also focuses on researching and resolving invoice discrepancies while supporting the AP Manager on various projects, requiring strong organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for working closely with our inventory team, department service supervisors, operations managers, and directors to process PO and non-PO invoices in a timely manner.
  • File and maintain AP records.
  • Disburse and reconcile petty cash.
  • Review a weekly aging report and issue checks, ACH, and credit card payments to vendors.
  • Process daily check requests from branches
  • Responsible for monthly review of vendor statements
  • Handle vendor set-up process and maintenance of accounts in ERP software
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
  • Assist the AP manager with other various projects.
Qualifications:
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail
  • 2 years’ experience in accounts payable preferred (experience with matching invoices to receipts a plus)
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of general accounting procedures
  • Strong basic excel skills required.
  • Good communication skills
