Job description

Title: Sales Engineer
Location: Hammond, IN
Hire Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $110k/yr

Overview:

The Sales Engineer role is to generate business opportunities in existing markets and in new business sectors. This role will collaborate with the Business Development Director and the General Manager to identify leads, create new business opportunities within the organization and to help grow new business by developing new client relationships.

Job Duties:

  • Gather business information and identify contacts for prospective clients, maintain open communication with said contacts.

  • Determine prospective client’s needs for company services (i.e., design, engineering, field services, design build, studies, estimating, etc.) and identify specific opportunities, follow-up actions and timelines.

  • Lead or participate in marketing initiatives and activities by developing Marketing & Sales materials/exhibits, upgrading promotional giveaways, company website.

  • Attend Trade Shows and local organizations meetings and events.

  • Schedule and meet with clients to vet out all RFI’s and /or RFQ’s as assigned by BD Director.

  • Work with the BD Director to develop Master Service Agreements if needed or purchase order requirements if work is awarded.

  • May prepare or assist with the preparation of initial proposal by developing scope of work and determining deliverables for the estimate.

  • May review the proposal with the client and potentially introduce client to the Project Manager should the work be awarded.

  • Continue to be a liaison between the client and the Project Manager to help mitigate any concerns during an active project.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in an Engineering field with at least 7 years of project engineering work in the industrial market sector.

  • Experience in the engineering consulting industry would be preferable.

  • Experience in technical sales.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate with other team members and prepare reports.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize work.

  • Ability to juggle multiple proposals/tasks simultaneously.
