Job description

Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill a Sales Application Engineer job in Milford, CT for our direct client. In this job, you will support the Sales team by evaluating customer application requirements, developing tailored solutions, and acting as a liaison between Sales and Engineering during the design and quoting phases.

Sales Application Engineer job responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify customer needs and develop customized product solutions
  • Analyze customer CAD files to assess feasibility and recommend design modifications
  • Work with the Engineering team to resolve technical challenges and refine solutions
  • Build and present accurate customer quotes, incorporating specifications and cost considerations
  • Implement and manage a CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) system to streamline the quoting process
  • Coordinate with IT and stakeholders to ensure successful CPQ system integration
  • Provide technical support and follow-up to internal teams and customers
  • Stay current on industry trends and technological advancements through training and conferences
  • Provide on-site start-up support in coordination with engineering teams

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical Engineering
  • Associate degree with 5+ years of relevant industry experience will be considered
  • 3–5 years of experience in sales engineering, applications engineering, or a customer-facing engineering role
  • Background in manufacturing machinery, tools, or device-based products preferred
  • Exposure to plastic parts or components is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable presenting to small to medium-sized groups
