Job description

POSTION SUMMARY

The Sales Application Specialist works closely with our sales team and other parts of the organization to drive growth in our waterworks business. The role involves providing technical expertise and support to our customers, conducting product evaluations, and developing solutions that meet our customers' needs.

Role and Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Team with sales and customers/prospects to provide technical expertise and support on waterworks applications, including evaluating customer requirements and recommending appropriate products and solutions.
  • Collaboration with the sales team and other parts of the organization to identify and pursue business opportunities in the waterworks market. Conducting market research and competitor analysis may be required
  • Evaluate customer request, provide quotes, including BOM and estimated lead times.
  • Provide troubleshooting and technical support to customers, addressing product-related issues and resolving problems in a timely manner. Where needed or appropriate, advise manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure product performance and quality meet customer requirements and expectations.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote our waterworks products and solutions, and build relationships with customers and industry stakeholders.
  • Assisting in the training and mentoring of current and new team members.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Associate (bachelor's preferred) degree in Engineering or 10 + years waterworks or related field experience.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in waterworks application, including understanding of waterworks systems, waterworks practices, and requirements.
  • Five to ten years’ proven experience in a technical or technical support role, preferably in the waterworks industry.
Preferred Skills
  • High level of technical expertise in waterworks configuration and support.
  • Deep knowledge of blueprints, callouts, industry codes, and customer specs.
  • Deep knowledge of specialty pipe coatings.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate customer requirements and provide effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, with a customer-centric approach.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and quality assurance practices.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills..
Additional Notes
  • Pre-employment drug testing required.
  • Must be authorized to live and work in the U.S.
  • Must be willing and able to travel regularly, including overnight travel to company locations, customer sites, and industry events as needed. (Estimated travel to be 5-10%.)
  • Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Primarily in an office (at CPF site or home office) and will work with field sales force and visit customer sites as necessary.
