Job description

IFP Automation is seeking a Sales Engineer focused on new account acquisition and gross margin growth within an assigned territory.

This is a performance-driven role for a true hunter who wants to build a territory, win new business, and be directly rewarded for results.

This role is for you if:

  • You are energized by winning new business
  • You are comfortable prospecting, initiating contact with new potential customers, and creating new opportunities
  • You are motivated by a compensation plan with a lower base salary and stronger upside tied to performance, with no income cap
  • You have demonstrated success selling electromechanical & automation products directly to customers

This role is not a fit if you are primarily an account manager or prefer maintaining existing relationships over building new ones.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and win new customer accounts
  • Build your own target account list by analyzing the territory and using available tools and market information to identify high-potential opportunities
  • Drive gross margin growth within territory
  • Generate new business and profitable growth in key strategic areas, including:
    • Electromechanical Motion & Control
    • Pneumatics
    • Automation Products
    • Mechanical & Electrical Systems and Engineered Solutions
    • IFP Core Products
  • Partner with engineering and operations to deliver complete customer solutions
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of opportunities

Compensation

  • Competitive base salary
  • Performance-driven variable compensation tied to gross margin
  • Higher earnings come from:
    • Winning new accounts
    • Growing gross margin dollars year over year
    • Selling core product lines and engineered solutions

This role is designed to reward hunters who generate profitable growth and focus on the areas most important to IFP. Top performers who consistently focus on the right business and deliver profitable growth will have the opportunity to earn at a high level.

What Success Looks Like

  • Consistently winning new accounts
  • Delivering measurable gross margin growth
  • Building and maintaining a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities
  • Selling value added solutions rather than competing primarily on price

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven success developing new business
  • Success in selling to engineering managers and other key stakeholders in an industrial setting, experience with electric actuators and supporting systems a plus.
  • Proven ability to take market share from competitors while selling premium priced products
  • Strong communication, prospecting, and relationship building skills
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, and accountable
  • Technical or industrial sales experience required, preferably in direct customer sales

Why IFP

  • Strong product lines and engineering capabilities
  • Opportunity to sell complete solutions, not just individual parts
  • Team oriented environment with meaningful internal support
  • Compensation aligned with performance and profitable growth

If you are driven to build a territory, create opportunities, and be rewarded for results, this role is built for you.
