Stac Material Handling, established in 2004, is a leading provider of complete turnkey material handling solutions for manufacturing and distribution companies. We specialize in the design, integration, and execution of complex powered conveyor systems, robotics, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), AS/RS, warehouse design, and layout optimization.


Position Overview


Stac is seeking an experienced Automation Sales Engineer to drive sales and technical development of system-level projects in manufacturing and distribution environments. This role combines deep conveyor and automation application expertise with proposal development, technical design, customer relationship management, and post-sale project support.


As an Automation Sales Engineer, you will work closely with customers from concept through proposal, design, and integration phases, playing a key role in discovering opportunities, developing solutions, and ensuring successful project outcomes. You will collaborate with internal engineering, controls, and project management teams to deliver complete material handling solutions that exceed customer expectations.


Key Responsibilities


  • Provide conveyor application expertise and lead the development of accurate project estimates and technical proposals.

·       Analyze customer technical specifications, process flows, and facility challenges to design optimal conveyor and material handling solutions.

  • Utilize AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other design/simulation software to create layouts and system concepts.
  • Develop and deliver compelling technical presentations to prospective clients.
  • Collaborate with the internal engineering and controls teams to generate pricing, quotes, and detailed project scopes.
  • Manage conveyor projects post-sale, including coordination with installation, controls, and project management teams.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and manage all sales activities through the CRM.

·       Apply knowledge of mechanical/electrical installation, controls, and machine-to-machine interoperability to ensure integrated solutions.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and innovative material handling solutions.
  • Support project handoff and execution to ensure seamless delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Domestic travel required (estimated 40–50%) for customer visits, site assessments, and presentations.


Required Qualifications & Experience


  • Minimum 3 years of conveyor applications experience in material handling or industrial automation.

·       Proven background in automation applications engineering, estimating, and project management.

  • Strong working knowledge of powered conveyor systems, mechanical and electrical installations, and controls integration.
  • Experience with AutoCAD (required); familiarity with SolidWorks or other design/simulation software is a plus.
  • Robust understanding of process flow, process automation, and process improvement within manufacturing and distribution supply chains.
  • Effective presentation and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to clients.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to develop solutions from concept to creation.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Prior experience in both technical sales and project execution of conveyor systems.
  • Exposure to robotics, AMRs, AS/RS, or broader warehouse automation projects.
  • Background in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or controls engineering.
  • Experience with proposal development and CRM tools.


Compensation & Benefits


·       Base salary of $90,000–$120,000 plus performance bonuses, with total compensation ranging from $150,000–$200,000.

  • Compensation is commensurate with industry knowledge, experience, and expertise.

  • Company pays 100% of single employee health premiums.
