Job description

JIT Automation is seeking a highly driven Technical Sales Person to develop and grow business with major OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers across the United States. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise and strong sales acumen, with the ability to identify opportunities, consult with engineering teams, and close complex capital equipment deals.

This is a high-impact, relationship-driven role with significant travel (50–75%) and direct engagement with manufacturing leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan targeting OEMs and large manufacturing organizations (automotive, appliance, aerospace)
  • Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities for automation equipment and engineered solutions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams to develop customized solutions aligned with customer production needs
  • Lead the full sales cycle, including prospecting, technical presentations, proposals, negotiations, and closing
  • Provide consultative guidance on lean manufacturing, productivity improvements, and ROI-driven automation solutions
  • Manage and grow existing accounts while expanding into new territories and customers
  • Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting and reporting
  • Represent the company at industry events, plant visits, and customer meetings

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related) is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience selling industrial equipment, automation systems, or capital equipment
  • Proven track record selling into OEMs and Tier 1 automotive manufacturers
  • Strong ability to sell, negotiate, and close complex deals
  • Technical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate engineering solutions
  • Experience working with manufacturing environments such as stamping, injection molding, or assembly operations preferred
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working remotely

Travel Requirements

  • 50–75% travel across the United States (customer sites, plant visits, and meetings)
