Product/Sales Engineer ย โ€“ ย Glendinning Products LLC

Glendinning Products LLC is seeking a Product/Sales Engineer to join our Sales & Customer Service team.ย  Based in Conway, SC., Glendinning Products LLC is a manufacturer of high-quality marine and RV products.ย  Our products include CableMaster, HoseMaster, Electronic Engine Controls, Control Cables, and other specialty products.ย  For over 50 years, Glendinning has well-earned reputation not only for the quality of products and service provided, but as an excellent Company to work for and in furthering oneโ€™s career.

The Product/Sales Engineer is responsible for providing an interface between the Company and our Customers, at all stages of the product sales cycle, for our โ€œComplete Controlsโ€ product line โ€“ from the point at which the customer calls the company to inquire about the details of our products, through supporting the customer placement of the order (working with our customer service team to facilitate order entry, expediting, and shipping), through supporting the person installing the product, and providing service to the end user or dealer during and after the warranty period.

Key Responsibilities:

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Sales and Support of the Glendinning โ€œComplete Controlsโ€ product line.

oย ย  Responds to customer inquiries and identifies the correct product configuration suitable for their application.ย  Provides quotes to customers for the system and when orders are received, ensures they are entered into the company ERP system.

oย ย  In some cases, existing product may have to be combined in new ways or with minor software / hardware modifications to respond to the customerโ€™s specification.ย  Identifies those needed changes and communicates with the companyโ€™s Engineering team regarding implementation.

oย ย  Ensures that customers have sufficient technical documentation to support their installation.

oย ย  Provides technical support to the customer during and after the product installation.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Provides excellent customer service throughout the product cycle to all of Glendinningโ€™s customers.

oย ย  Knowledgeable about the entire range of the Glendinning โ€œComplete Controlsโ€ product line.

oย ย  Provides technical support to Glendinning customers during the product specification and installation process.

oย ย  Provides assistance to Glendinning customers during and after the product warranty period.

oย ย  Adopts a pro-active attitude to customer technical support, by actively following up on customer inquiries and technical support issues.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Participates in technical investigations on returned product. Determines the direct cause of the failure.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Offers ideas for product extensions and application engineering solutions to the Engineering team.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  As necessary, provides on-site support to customers and dealers.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  As necessary, assists the Sales staff by participating at selected trade shows (2-3 shows / year).

Skills/Qualifications:

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Marine Propulsion experience.ย  The Product/Sales Engineer must have a general understanding of marine propulsion systems โ€“ what they include and how they operate.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Electronic system background.ย  Basic familiarity with electrical concepts is essential (voltage, current, resistance, digital communications, etc.)ย  Experience with NMEA2000 network systems preferred.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  The willingness to learn new concepts in order to understand the technical details of all facets of Glendinningโ€™s โ€œComplete Controlsโ€ product line.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  The ability to interact articulately with customers at all levels of the business via telephone and email.
