Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Solar Applications Engineer works closely with the sales group to prepare timely and accurate commercial proposals and technical specifications for the Commercial & Industrial, and Utility-scale solar projects and battery energy storage system projects. The Sales Applications Engineer role creates a network of relationships with customers and vendors, defines solutions that include hardware and software requirements for Solar PV projects. In addition, the Sales Applications Engineer acts as a resource to C&I customers, and/or Utility-scale project customers to assist FIMER in becoming qualified as a PV inverter/solution provider of choice.

Additionally, the Sales Applications Engineer prepares/delivers presentations at technical conferences and meetings with clients, provides technical guidance in the preparation, review, and final commercial proposal generation to customer, and tracks competitor?s offerings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

TECHNICAL SALES SUPPORT

  • Serve as?a technical liaison and resource for the Sales team to Commercial & Industrial, and Utility customers,?and an?expert resource for general product specifications?and?value engineering?discussions.

  • Collaborate with Distribution/Channel sales customers to assist in training and qualifying FIMER products for the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) market. This includes training on the FIMER Residential product line.

  • Work closely with end customers as well as FIMER sales staff,?engineering,?and manufacturing/procurement to ensure complete and shared project understanding and priorities.

  • Project manage the opportunity from sales through execution kickoff with manufacturing, ensuring technical alignment to both owner and Fimer requirements.

PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT & TECHNICAL ANALYSIS

  • Analyze Utility RFPs or?other?customer?documentation/specifications?to determine project scope, schedule, specifications, risk, and technical requirements for both 3-phase string and large central inverter systems.

  • Prepare?technical?documentation?for?proposals?and collaborate with Sales, Finance and Manufacturing to complete bid packages for customers.

CUSTOMER TRAINING & TECHNICAL PRESENTATIONS

  • Conduct Technical Presentations, Training sessions, and develop White Papers for C&I and Utility customers as well as internal staff.

  • Perform on-site visits, provide guidance to customers as needed.
