Position Description

Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Sales Engineer plays a key role in supporting customers, developing accurate cost estimates, and ensuring smooth order processing from initial inquiry through production. This position requires strong technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with customers via phone, email, and fax to understand requirements and provide technical support
  • Prepare detailed estimates based on customer specifications and engineering data
  • Perform cost estimation for newly designed or custom products
  • Enter sales orders and prepare all necessary production paperwork
  • Provide ongoing support to customers after quotes or orders are issued; follow up on outstanding quotations
  • Determine appropriate manufacturing process steps for customer parts
  • Estimate machine cycle times and other production-related metrics
  • Enter and maintain accurate information with the ERP system
  • Prepare accurate customer pricing based on materials, labor, and process requirements

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of CAD software experience (preferably Pro-E/Creo Parametric)
  • 1+ years of experience having worked in a manufacturing environment
  • 1+ years of Customer Service or Sales experience
  • Proficient in reading technical drawings and prints
  • High attention to detail with the ability to process large amounts of information accurately
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, and part numbering systems
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree, or Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience working in a bearings, power transmission and/or drivetrain industry
