Job description

About Mercor
Mercor's mission is to organize human intelligence to power the AI economy. We partner with leading AI labs and enterprises to provide the human intelligence essential to AI development. Our vast talent network trains frontier AI models in the same way teachers teach students: by sharing knowledge, experience, and context that can't be captured in code alone. Today, more than 30,000 experts in our network collectively earn over $2 million a day.
Mercor is creating a new category of work where expertise powers AI advancement. Achieving this requires an ambitious, fast-paced and deeply committed team. You'll work alongside researchers, operators, and AI companies at the forefront of shaping the systems that are redefining society. Mercor is a profitable Series C company valued at $10 billion. We work in-person five days a week in our San Francisco, NYC, or London offices.
About the Role
Mercor is bringing on our first dedicated Revenue Operations hire to build the foundation of our billing and operational infrastructure. You'll own the end-to-end revenue operations workflow and build scalable, sustainable systems that drive Mercor's rapid growth. This is a high-impact, foundational role: you won't just be running existing systems, you'll be designing them from scratch. You'll work at the intersection of Finance, Operations, and Engineering, with direct exposure to how our business scales. If you like building order out of ambiguity and want to see your work directly tied to company growth, this is the role.
You'll also lead collaborative work across multiple members of the team and cross functional partners from operations and engineering who are responsible for day-to-day support of all of GenAI revenue and billing.
What You'll Do
  • Customer Reporting & Analysis: Oversee the accurate tracking of all customer-facing work. Build and maintain dashboards and reports that give leadership clear visibility into revenue health, billing trends, and operational metrics.
  • Revenue Reconciliation: Leverage strong analytical skills and AI tools to Investigate and resolve revenue discrepancies by reconciling large datasets across billing systems, CRM, and internal tooling. Identify root causes and implement fixes, not just band-aids.
  • Build Scalable Systems and Processes: Design scalable processes from the ground up. Identify manual bottlenecks, scope automation opportunities, and collaborate with Engineering to build tooling that reduces manual operations.
  • Data Management: Maintain clean, reliable revenue data. Build and enforce data hygiene practices across the systems that touch revenue (CRM, billing platforms, internal databases).
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Finance, Operations, and Engineering to ensure alignment on billing logic, contract terms, and reporting. Serve as the connective tissue between teams on anything revenue-related.
  • Customer Procurement & Billing: Work with customers to manage contracts and purchase orders for future work. Own the invoicing process across our customer base, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and clear communication with customers and internal stakeholders.

What We're Looking For
  • 4-10 years of experience in revenue operations, finance operations, accounting, or an analytically rigorous role at a tech company, startup, or professional services firm.
  • Strong SQL skills; you should be comfortable writing queries to investigate data issues and pull your own reporting.
  • Experience working with billing or invoicing systems, CRM platforms, and spreadsheets at scale, especially at high-growth companies.
  • A detail-oriented, systems-thinking mindset. You notice when numbers don't add up and you don't let it go.
  • Deep understanding of invoicing processes, monthly close processes, etc.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity.
  • A degree ideally in a quantitative or analytical field (e.g., finance, economics, computer science, accounting, math).
  • Can-do attitude!

Bonus Points
  • Experience at a high-growth startup or in a role where you built rev ops processes from scratch.
  • Familiarity with billing models in the human data space.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Competitive salary + meaningful equity (aligned with a venture-backed, rapidly scaling AI company)
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k)
  • Monthly meal and wellness stipends
  • Excellent in-office culture
