Job Summary
The REDCap Administrator manages the REDCap data capture platform, overseeing user access, building and configuring study databases, designing data collection forms (instruments/surveys), providing user training/support, ensuring data security/integrity, and troubleshooting technical issues for researchers. They bridge technical and research needs, helping studies move from development to production, ensuring compliance, and optimizing workflows using features like tracking forms.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
SYSTEM ACCESS : Manage user provisioning, roles, permissions, and audit logs. Enforce least-privilege access and institutional SOPs. Create/manage user accounts, set permissions, and audit logs. Guide researchers through project setup (instruments, events, modules). Configure project databases, design data collection forms (surveys, data entry), and set up complex logic (branching, piping).
SYSTEM PERFORMANCE : Monitor system performance, security, and capacity. Coordinate upgrades, patches, and external module lifecycle. Troubleshoot issues, assist with data management, and resolve technical problems for users. Implement data quality checks, ensure compliance with privacy regulations (IRB), and maintain data security. Establish and maintain governance workflows for project review/approval, data retention, and export controls. Define and track KPIs for platform adoption, data quality, uptime, ticket, and training impact.
PROJECT COORDINATION : Consult with study teams to translate protocols into REDCap projects (instruments, events/arms, longitudinal design). Validate project configurations for data integrity, workflows, and regulatory compliance. Provide best-practice templates and libraries (common instruments, longitudinal frameworks, event mappings).
PROVIDE SUPPORT : Provide Tier 2/3 support. Troubleshoot complex issues, triage tickets, and communicate release notes/changes. Implement periodic audits for permissions, PHI handling, and data exports. Remediate findings.
PARTNERSHIP : Work with IT, study team, and regulatory teams to align REDCap with organizational goals. Partner with IRB/Compliance on privacy, consent, retention, and audit readiness (HIPAA, 21 CFR Part 11).
OTHER : Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Health Informatics, Clinical Research, Information Systems, Biostatistics, or related field, and three years of experience in academic medical centers, large research organizations, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of EHR data workflows (e.g., Epic/Cerner) and integrations with REDCap via API/ETL. Exposure to data visualization/analytics tools (Power Bl, Tableau, R/Python). Experience managing External Modules and REDCap upgrades across test/prod environment.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
Experience with REDCap development, administration, and data management.
Strong understanding of research methodologies and data security protocols.
Proficiency with data tools (R, SAS, Python) is a plus.
Understanding of best practices for data collection, storage, security, and integrity in research settings.
General knowledge of database principles and basic database query tools. - knowledge of data privacy regulations, such as HIPPA.
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills.
Skill in performing data cleaning, validation checks, and generating data quality reports.
Strong attention to detail to ensure data accuracy.

Shift: Days; M-F (Work outside of the standard business hours may be required)
Pay Band: B14
Salary: $75,300/annually-$80,000/annually
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
