- Participate in grant writing and funding proposals.
- Support the TB Prevention & Care Director in planning and implementing professional development for staff.
- Act as the CDC Education and Training Focal Point, attending relevant conferences as needed.
- Maintain the IDOH TB program website, ensuring content and materials are current.
- Coordinate and facilitate the Indiana TB Elimination Advisory Committee and oversee the development and execution of the state TB elimination plan.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- May supervise or coordinate the work of interns.
- Use expert knowledge of TB and critical thinking to identify public health threats, develop interventions, and improve processes.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal privacy laws and uphold patient confidentiality.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external partners, including CDC, Global TB Institute, healthcare providers, and local health departments.
- Work in a hybrid setting (3 days in-office, 2 days remote), with occasional field work and overnight travel as needed.
- Be willing to obtain immunizations for communicable diseases as necessary.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (public health education, community health, etc.) and at least 2 years of related experience; Master’s degree preferred.
- Knowledge of TB epidemiology, state/federal regulations, and public health guidance.
- Experience in creating training and educational materials for diverse audiences.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn other database applications (e.g., IN-TRAIN, Redcap).
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including risk communication.
- Ability to identify and address public health problems and work with diverse stakeholders.
- Advanced certification (CHES/MCHES) highly desired.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and record-keeping skills.
- Commitment to cultural competence and customer service.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in complex situations.
