What is an Internship Redcap?

An Internship Redcap typically refers to an intern who works with REDCap, a secure web application for building and managing online surveys and databases, widely used in academic research. These interns assist with data entry, management, troubleshooting, and supporting research teams in using the REDCap system. Their role may also include helping with user training and ensuring data integrity within ongoing research projects. Internship Redcaps gain valuable experience in database management, research compliance, and clinical informatics, which can be beneficial for future careers in research or healthcare IT.

What types of projects or tasks can an Internship Redcap expect to work on during their placement?

As an Internship Redcap, you will typically be involved in supporting research teams with data management using the REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) platform. This may include tasks such as designing electronic data capture forms, assisting with data entry and quality control, troubleshooting user issues, and helping researchers adhere to data security protocols. You may also participate in meetings with research coordinators and IT staff to streamline workflows and ensure project success. This role offers a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in clinical research data management and to collaborate with diverse teams.
