Job description

Job Title: Product Development Engineer
Regular Full Time
Taneytown, MD, US
Job Overview:
The Product Development Team at EVAPCO headquarters in Taneytown, MD supports the HVAC, Industrial Refrigeration and Power markets at all 36 Evapco locations in 14 countries. EVAPCO’s Product Development Engineers develop next-generation technologies that meet the evolving needs of our global customers. The available position is responsible for completing engineering tasks critical to new product development, maintaining existing products and providing support to all areas of the company including Production, Manufacturing and Marketing.
We are looking for self-motivated engineers who possess effective written and verbal communication skills, the ability to build relationships with global Evapco team members, represent Evapco to applicable industry organizations, and occasionally support our customers via virtual and onsite assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
  • New Product Research and Development
    • Perform R amp;D laboratory prototype design, construction, and testing for new and improved products
    • Coordinate laboratory prototype design efforts with drafting team
    • Direct laboratory technicians during test programs
    • Create and update related documentation including standard operating procedures, technical process instructions and part specifications
    • Identify and develop product requirement specifications in accordance with customer needs and product concepts
    • Work with other departments to build consensus across organizational boundaries to assist in new product development
    • Participate in industry organizations to assist with test code and certification program development
  • Marketing and Application Assistance
    • Work with Marketing groups as the contact for technical questions related to new and existing product lines
  • Production Assistance
    • Support assembly mechanics and field technicians with questions related to unit assembly and warranty repair
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Civil
  • Must be able to communicate professionally amp; effectively, have strong attention to detail, consistent follow through, and reliable documentation skills
  • The preferred candidate will have 0-5 years of engineering experience.
Location:
  • Position is based in Taneytown, MD.
  • Candidate should expect to travel 10% of the time to various conferences, customer locations, job sites, and manufacturing facilities.
