Product Development Assistant


Lulu & Georgia is seeking a highly organized, detail-driven, and motivated Product Development Assistant to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to build a career in product development, production, and home interiors within a fast-paced, design-driven environment.

In this role, you will partner closely with our Product Development Manager and collaborate cross-functionally with buying, planning, merchandising, and photoshoot teams, as well as overseas vendors, agents, and testing partners. You will play a key role in supporting the development process across multiple categories, including wallpaper, hardlines (decor), kids dรฉcor, and holiday, while also owning the flow and organization of incoming samples across all categories.

Weโ€™re looking for someone who brings a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and curiosity, with a willingness to roll up their sleeves and grow within a dynamic, evolving business.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Sr. Product Development Manager in day-to-day execution of pre-production and in-production projects, including WIP management, maintaining collection decks, and assisting in all category developments

  • Partner closely with the Sr. PD Manager on data builds and product information tracking, ensuring all development details are accurate, complete, and consistently updated

  • Maintain Excel trackers as a primary source of truth for timelines, product specs, and development status

  • Liaise with international vendors, testing labs, and compliance partners to gather and verify product data, testing requirements, and documentation

  • Support product development across categories including wallpaper, hardlines (decor), wall dรฉcor, kids dรฉcor, and holiday

  • Own and manage the intake, logging, and organization of all incoming packages and samples across categories

  • Track and communicate updates on all incoming development and photoshoot samples, ensuring visibility across teams

  • Manage and maintain physical sample, swatch, and material libraries for both active and past seasons with a high level of organization

  • Drive clear and timely communication with vendors to ensure alignment on development details, timelines, and deliverables

  • Maintain and update trackers for sample orders, due dates, and key milestones

  • Provide light project management support, including tracking progress, following up on open items, and ensuring teams have the most up-to-date information

  • Coordinate and execute all sample shipments to vendors, clients, and internal teams, including packing, labeling, and scheduling deliveries

  • Handle local logistics including pickups and drop-offs (FedEx, post office, and local partners) as needed

  • Support organization of PD meetings, including package check-in, sample prep, and agenda coordination

  • Maintain and update development decks, ensuring imagery and product information are current and accurate

  • Assist in sourcing R&D sample follow-up and vendor communication

  • Help create a productive work environment for the PD team by maintaining an organized and well-stocked supply closet, managing supply inventory and supply ordering. Acts as central point of contact for in-office team, ensuring the office functions efficiently.

  • Develop foundational understanding of product construction, materials, and quality standards across categories




Requirements:

  • Highly detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills and a strong sense of ownership

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency and accountability
    Strong written and verbal communication skills with consistent follow-through

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required); Google Suite proficiency required; Photoshop a plus

  • Experience working with data trackers and managing large sets of product information strongly preferred, experience working with product development software or ERP systems is a plus.

  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and shifting priorities simultaneously

  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills (written, verbal, email, telephone) and the ability to work cross-functionally

  • Interest in or exposure to product development, production, and compliance (including testing and packaging) is a plus

  • Proactive and solutions-oriented, with the ability to adapt quickly in a growing business

  • Professional, reliable, and flexible with a positive, growth-minded attitude

  • Willingness to support both strategic and hands-on operational tasks

  • Strong interest in home interiors, preferably rugs, textiles, or dรฉcor

  • Exposure to product development and/or production processes (fabrication, construction, print techniques, finishing) is a plus

  • Must be based in the Los Angeles area

  • Must have reliable transportation for sample pickups, drop-offs, and in-person meetings

  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs
