Job description

Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all aspects of new and improved dietary supplement solid dose product development including tablet cores, capsules, powders, flavored, coated, and chewable dose forms.
  • Manages personal project schedule.
  • Prepares regular progress reports.
  • Trains the PD and Operations team in solid dose production processes.
  • Troubleshoots and optimizes existing products as assigned.
  • Understands the operation of all solid dose development, testing, and production equipment including tablet press, tablet coater, encapsulation, roll compaction, blenders, disintegration, moisture, friability, bulk density and particle size determination instruments.
  • Responsible for the creation of new and improved processes and operating procedures including Request for Quote formulas, Unit Dose Specifications, Change Orders, and Product Labels as assigned.

  • Presents solid dose product concepts to Customers and Capstone Nutrition 's Sales team as assigned.
  • Participates in customer visits and conference calls.
  • Supervises bench and scale up pilots.
  • Keeps a current laboratory notebook of all projects.

Requirements
  • 4 year College/University Degree
  • Proficient in college mathematics.
  • Understands and uses the scientific method.
  • Able to complete accurate, precise work in a timely manner.
  • Able to function in a laboratory and production setting.
  • Proficient in "Office" programs including document creation, spreadsheets, presentations, and e-mail.
  • Must occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and suppliers both verbally and in writing.
  • May be required to wear personal protective equipment.
  • Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write in English in order to perform the essential functions of the job as they relate to comprehension of laws, regulations, standards, documents and other internal and external communications.
  • Occasional Travel.

  • Regularly subject to normal office or laboratory environment.
  • Occasionally subject to normal warehouse and production environment.
