Job Title: Product Developer


About the Role
The Product Developer plays a critical role in evaluating, validating, and supporting the new experimental varieties. This position is responsible for planning and executing trials, analyzing performance data, and partnering closely with cross-functional teams including Breeding, Product Management, and Sales.
The primary objective is to generate data-driven insights that support decision-making and ensure successful commercialization of new varieties within the assigned crops and geographic region.
Key Responsibilities
Manage crops of moderate technical complexity within defined segments, ensuring the application of appropriate agronomic practices, protocols, and technical standards to achieve consistent and high-quality results.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients, demonstrating strong mid-level communication and collaboration skills to support business objectives and enhance customer satisfaction.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to local teams, supporting the advancement of new varieties through evaluation stages and contributing to successful progression toward EX (Experimental/Commercialization phase).
Maximize the performance and output of the product portfolio within the assigned crop and area of responsibility, while actively contributing to the development and introduction of new product lines aligned with market needs.
Design and develop comprehensive trial plans, ensuring alignment with research objectives, market priorities, and organizational strategies.
Coordinate, monitor, and evaluate research and commercial variety trials, ensuring accurate data collection, analysis, and timely reporting of results to relevant stakeholders.
Support the successful introduction of new Enza Zaden varieties by providing strong technical positioning, clear product value propositions, and effective communication to the Sales team, customers, and prospects.
Identify promising experimental varieties through local screening and global breeding programs, and actively contribute to data-driven decision-making processes for new variety advancement.
Ensure the availability and efficient management of trial materials, including maintaining an optimal seed supply to support all research and commercial trial activities.
Collaborate cross-functionally with breeding, sales, marketing, and operations teams to ensure alignment, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement in variety development and commercialization processes.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Experience
Higher professional education (Bachelor / College) or equivalent working and thinking level
3 to 5 years of relevant work experience preferred.
A valid driver's license.
Must meet eligibility requirements under the company's driver insurance policy.

Strong communication, analytical and collaboration skills
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable conclusions.
Proven collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
Solid agricultural knowledge, preferably in high density vegetable crops.
Proficient in the use of Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook.

Working Conditions
May work under time pressure during peak activities or emergencies.
Ability to work under time constraints, particularly during peak seasons.
Frequent fieldwork in varying environmental conditions.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and move items up to 60lbs
Occasional reaching, bending, or stooping will be necessary to manipulate plants in the field.
Travel required depending on trial locations and business needs. Half the year travel to the DSW (Desert Southwest) will be needed as much as every 2 weeks for a week at a time.

Compensation & Benefits
The following information is provided in good faith as a general description of the pay range and benefits for the position posted. The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate is dependent upon experience, skills, education, and other objective job-related factors.

Estimated Starting Salary Rate: $77,000 - $87,000. The starting salary is offered in good faith, based on role level, skill, qualifications and local market data.
