SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for Nike swim apparel & swim gear product development. Works with appropriate cross-functional partners (Design, Merchandising, Sourcing & external partners) to develop trims, fabrics, prints, & accessories for Nike swim ensuring high product integrity. Making sure all development hits key calendar dates and gates.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily communication with liaison office partners & external suppliers for all aspects of swim development
  • Concise & direct email communication
  • Ensure all appropriate development documentation is maintained
  • Maintain in-house color standard library and send out standards as needed to vendors
  • Send out lab dip requests and print artwork for development
  • Review lab dip, trim and print submits with team and advise comments/approvals
  • Attend various weekly development meetings
  • Manages follow-up and problem resolution in a timely manner with attention to detail.
  • Collaborates with design, merchandising, & technical design to effectively execute product development deliverables.
  • Leads on time development according to critical dates, specific product needs, and profitability goals.
  • Support an efficient process and communication flow between all cross-functional departments.
  • Assist in packaging, hangtag, & label development
  • Maintains and manages PLM
  • Use PLM to maintain development records and build databases for all product components.
  • Ensure all fabrics & trims are production ready.
  • Reviews all PP samples to ensure all components are correct before production buys.
  • Maintains style development status hitting calendar deadlines for fabric, trims, and proto approval.
  • Tracks and facilitates sampling process
  • Issues PO by factory and follows up to ensure sample deadlines are met.
  • Facilitate samples review & allocation process for on time samples delivery.
  • Check in all samples and organize for hand off to merch & marketing teams

SKILLS:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills in a fast paced environment. Ability to work under tight timelines and while juggling multiple deadlines.
  • Strong communicator. Superb written and verbal skills with an ability to clearly articulate.
  • Experience with communication with global vendors
  • Understand the product creation process & effectively executes on product development goals and deliverables.
  • Superior color/hue discrimination
  • Team player, proactive, & self motivated with ability to adapt to change quickly.
  • Knowledge and skill in PLM, Essentus and other software programs.
  • Knowledge and experience in how materials/trims work and function in apparel development

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred with a focus on Product Development, Product Design, Sports Product Management or related field
  • 2-3 years of experience in product development
