Role Summary

The Product Developer supports and drives the product development process from concept through production. This role is responsible for helping bring products to life by managing product details, evaluating samples, identifying issues, troubleshooting development challenges, communicating with suppliers, and ensuring products move forward clearly and accurately.

The Product Developer is expected to be hands-on with samples, revisions, product details, and development follow-up. This role requires a background or training in actual product development, with working knowledge of the product creation process, including an understanding of usability, functionality, product aesthetics, and user experience. Knowledge of industrial design principles is a plus, especially as it relates to form, function, materials, ergonomics, and how products are used by the end customer.


What You'll Do

Product Development

  • Support and manage products from concept through production
  • Help translate product concepts into clear development direction
  • Review product details, specs, materials, construction, packaging, and functionality
  • Identify product issues, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Troubleshoot development challenges with suppliers, factories, and internal teams
  • Support decisions related to product usability, user experience, aesthetics, and execution; knowledge of industrial design principles is a plus
  • Apply product development knowledge to help improve product quality, function, and market readiness

Sample Evaluation & Troubleshooting

  • Review and evaluate product samples in detail
  • Test product functionality, usability, fit, finish, and overall execution
  • Document sample issues, required changes, and revision notes clearly
  • Compare samples against product direction, specs, reference materials, and expectations
  • Communicate sample feedback to suppliers and follow up on corrections
  • Help troubleshoot issues related to materials, construction, packaging, performance, or user experience
  • Track sample rounds, revisions, approvals, and next steps

Supplier & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Communicate development updates, revisions, and feedback to suppliers
  • Follow up with suppliers on open items, sample corrections, timelines, and production readiness
  • Work closely with the Head of Product Development and internal teams to keep projects moving
  • Help ensure suppliers understand requested changes and development expectations
  • Support handoff from development to production with clear documentation and communication

Project Support

  • Keep trackers, product documents, sample notes, and development records updated
  • Track timelines, tasks, revisions, approvals, and next steps
  • Follow up on open items and help remove roadblocks
  • Support research, product comparisons, and competitive reviews as needed
  • Help improve development processes, documentation, and communication flow
