Position Overview

The Production Planner will support launch material planning activities for new product introductions, engineering changes, and supply chain coordination within an automotive manufacturing environment. This role serves as the primary interface between NPI program teams and series material planning teams to ensure accurate forecasting, material readiness, and successful launch execution. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SAP MRP systems, supply chain operations, launch coordination, and cross-functional project management within a manufacturing environment.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Plan launch phases with Vehicle Program Management, Chief Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to review supplier lead times and material readiness
  • Provide runout reports and BOM effectivity dates to support implementation of engineering changes
  • Analyze BOMs and MBOMs while coordinating with NPI teams to ensure accurate SAP information and demand planning
  • Coordinate, track, and report launch processes for new models aligned with project milestones and timelines
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure On-Time, In-Full (OTIF) delivery performance
  • Create and align implementation timelines to monitor readiness of new material and part numbers
  • Collaborate with Material Master teams to maintain SAP master data and system settings
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Planning, Operations, Finance, Packaging, Manufacturing Engineering, Marketing, Service, Sales, and Program teams to communicate changes effectively
  • Drive project updates and launch timelines while proactively resolving delays and escalation issues
  • Track engineering changes and implementation dates between stakeholders and planning teams
  • Support additional projects and assignments as required
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and KPI optimization efforts


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2–4 years of experience in automotive, manufacturing, logistics, material planning, or supply chain operations
  • Minimum 2 years of project management experience
  • Strong MRP/ERP system knowledge with SAP preferred
  • Experience with Launch Programs, NPI, PLM, BOM management, and Supply Chain operations
  • Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Project, Jira, Smartsheet, 3DX, and Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and reporting capabilities
  • Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills
