In this role, the Product Developer will bring new designs to life by leading the sourcing, sampling, costing, and overall development process with manufacturing partners while seeking opportunities to streamline workflows. You'll partner closely with our whole product team to innovate on and expand our sourcing network to ensure we offer the best possible quality, design, and ultimately value to our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the merchandising and design team throughout prototype development to ensure aesthetic and functional execution.
  • Develop product briefs including sending CADs, detailed design instruction, trim direction, fit direction, fabric information, technical specifications, and T&A calendar.
  • Oversee all communication with factories regarding the daily execution of products from design handoff/tech packs/BOM/salesman and photoshoot samples through production.
  • Negotiate costing and manage delivery dates.
  • Source new and exciting fabrics and materials with our supplier network.
  • Document all sampling in the development process including production sign-off samples. Maintain detailed records of the production sample library.
  • Maintains development tracker in our PLM system with vendors to keep developments accurate and on time.
  • Communicate with our purchasing team to ensure the PO is sent in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of product development experience. Prior experience in home goods and/or apparel is preferred.
  • Understanding of the design and development process from inception through final adoption.
  • Understanding of pattern making, garment construction, specs, fabric and tech packs and how that all plays into the final quality of the product – an eye for detail.
  • Effective communicator with internal and external parties and cross-functional teams.
  • Passion for premium, functional products.
  • Knowledge of product sourcing and production.
  • Potential for minimal travel.
