Job description

Pacific Shipyards International is searching for a Planner/Scheduler to join our ship repair team in Hawaii. Position Title: Planner/Scheduler Reports To: Senior Scheduler & VP Programs Location: Honolulu, Hawaii Position Summary Pacific Shipyards International (PSI) is the largest privately owned shipyard in Hawaii, with two of the largest dry docks in the state. We have been in business since 1944 and have a large labor force of skilled craftsman with a full support staff of professionals who comprise of engineering, project management, QA, EHS, accounting, contracts, and human resources.

We are seeking a Planner/Scheduler to join the Programs Division. The Planner/Scheduler will work directly with the project management team to develop, maintain, and progress schedules for multiple ship repair projects. The Planner/Scheduler will work closely with executive management, estimators, project managers, and production managers to support scheduling activities and recommend changes to improve the efficiency of planning and reporting to the customer.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for developing an Integrated Product Schedule (I.P.S.) and creating timelines with key milestones while assisting the project manager to maintain schedule. Collects and analyzes information used to plan and schedule ship repairs. Develops and gathers information to provide regular updates to the schedule

Monitors the schedule regularly to identify issues and provide proactive resolutions. Oversees the schedule health metrics to ensure the schedule is following contract requirements. Coordinates meetings with project/planning team to discuss issues, improvements, and or changes to schedule.

Utilizes standard planning and scheduling methodologies and tools. Supports bids and proposals as needed; technical writing and estimating capabilities are a plus. Education/Training/Skills: Bachelor of Science preferred or equivalent experience.

Able to construct and modify project schedules using MS Project and/or Oracle Primavera P6. Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in ship repair project planning or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of working with federal contracts is helpful.

Knowledge of NAVSEA standards is helpful. Must be proficient in Microsoft applications, specifically Project and Excel. Must possess an understanding of planning/scheduling principles, practices, and techniques and be capable of developing schedules from contract documents and work specifications.

Must have strong organizational and time management skills. Must have effective written and verbal communication skills. Must be a team player.

Qualification/Requirements: Must show proof of your legal right to work in the United States Requires US Citizenship. Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC). Must be able to obtain a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential.

All candidates must pass a post-offer drug screening and background check. Valid State of Hawaii REAL ID-Compliant Drivers' License in good standing or a valid U.S. Passport in addition to a valid Hawaii Driver's License, if you do not have a REAL ID-Compliant Driver's License, class 3 or higher Candidates must have access to reliable transportation to get to work and other job sites
