Job description

ABOUT HUT 8

Imagine the ultimate destination for those who want to work at the cutting edge of technology, energy, and infrastructure. Hut 8 is on a mission to build and operate some of the world's largest data centers for next-generation computing workloads, including AI, Colocation, Cloud, and Bitcoin Mining. We are proud to offer interesting and challenging opportunities for individuals who want to build teams, solve problems, and make an impact from day one. If you're an ambitious individual looking for a career that is as rewarding as it is challenging, you've come to the right place.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Planner / Scheduler builds and maintains the integrated project schedule for a data center build, with regular progress updates and rigorous analysis of critical path, slippage, and recovery scenarios. On a program where energization dates carry commercial commitments, the schedule isn't an artifact - it's the project's operating instrument, and this role keeps it honest.

Some of the key responsibilities you should expect are the following:

Integrated Schedule Ownership

Build and maintain the integrated P6 schedule spanning engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning, with logic that reflects real delivery: submittal-to-fabrication chains, delivery-to-installation ties, water-tightness gates, and Cx prerequisite sequences.

Progress & Status Discipline

Run the progress cycle: field walk-downs and progress capture with superintendents, partner schedule updates, and monthly re-baselining governance. Challenge optimistic progress claims with installed-quantity evidence.

Critical Path & Recovery Analysis

Analyze critical and near-critical paths, float erosion, and slippage drivers every cycle. Model recovery scenarios and what-ifs (resequencing, added shifts, early-release packages) with cost/feasibility input from the PM and superintendents, and present options leadership can actually choose between.

Contractor & Vendor Schedule Integration

Integrate and interrogate GC/EPC and major vendor schedules: audit logic and durations, test milestone credibility, and hold partners to schedule-basis commitments. Own the delivery-date interface with the Logistics & Expediting Manager.

Commissioning Schedule Development

Build the Level 1-5 commissioning schedule with the CXQC Field Manager - system-by-system, with realistic vendor technician and utility dependencies - and protect it from construction compression.

Reporting

Produce schedule health reporting that drives decisions: lookaheads, milestone trend charts, float consumption, and a written critical-path narrative for the weekly and monthly rhythm.

ABOUT YOU

-      What we're looking for:

- 6+ years of planning/scheduling on large capital projects; data center, power, or heavy industrial strongly preferred.

- Expert-level Primavera P6: multi-thousand-activity programs, resource/cost loading, and baseline management.

- Schedule quality rigor - DCMA-style health checks, logic auditing, and an allergy to open ends and soft constraints.

- Experience integrating and challenging contractor and vendor schedules, including defending your critical path against theirs.

- Commissioning-phase scheduling experience in mission-critical delivery a significant plus.

- Strong analytical and narrative skills: leadership reads your critical-path story, not the XER.

- Comfortable walking the site and pulling progress directly from superintendents and trade partners.

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.

- Regular site presence during construction and commissioning peaks (typically 25-50%).

ABOUT THE WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role is on the projects ite in Corpus Christi, TX. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
