Job Title: Production Scheduler

Department: Supply Chain

Reports To: Planning Supervisor

Summary/Objectives: Responsible for scheduling sales orders to meet customer demand or fit within the capacity of the production operations. Releasing and monitoring production orders, ensuring required materials are available to the production floor, according to the production schedule. Release sales orders and customer shipments to production for the daily shipping schedule.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Schedules and coordinates production work orders to ensure 100% on-time delivery of all customer orders.
  • Responsible for the analysis of sales order releases with respect to capacity schedule and material requirements.
  • Consistent, reliable attendance and punctuality at assigned work location
  • Input shipping and delivery date information.
  • Evaluate MRP and PRP demand with supply chain and production through releasing of jobs and communicating material shortages.
  • Interface with manufacturing personnel, purchasing personnel, etc. on material status and production scheduling issues.
  • Working with various NetSuite tools for problem-solving of demand, production movement, and on-time commitment for assigned sales orders.
  • Procure materials and components as needed to support customer demand and special projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; 4-year degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with purchasing, expediting, MRP/ERP systems, quality/continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and safety practices.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office.



Preferred:

  • Previous experience in manufacturing/production

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations will be made to qualified individuals in accordance with applicable state and federal law.


  • Sitting for long periods of time. Frequent periods of standing and walking. Lifting up to 25lbs unassisted and occasionally lift and/or move heavier items utilizing a team lift.
  • Repetitive use of hands/motion and have manual dexterity, finger dexterity, and multi-limb coordination.
  • Use of appropriate personal protective equipment, when required.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: General office environment that is climate controlled. Will be required to visit production area occasionally and may be exposed to airborne contaminants, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Production area is not climate-controlled. The noise level may exceed permissible exposure limit and hearing protection may be required.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full-Time – 9/80 Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00AM – 5:00PM or 6:30AM – 4:30PM. May require overtime based on business needs.

Travel: No travel is expected for this position.
