Production Scheduler

Location: New Market, VA

Job Summary:

Evaluate and verify the possibilities of production implementation. It's the main start of building the optimal, accurate production plan by balancing the demands and production capacities. It requires strong knowledge or abilities to understand the ERP/SAP system with PP modules to optimise the production.  Contributes to optimizing procurement processes, supplier sourcing as well as supplier relationship management to achieve Kennametal objectives in terms of delivery, quality, and cost.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Build and control daily, weekly, monthly and production schedules to ensure the output results meet customer's demands.
  • Create the Bill of Material and Product Routing, verify technical drawings of all products to make sure all products are made with best quality standards.
  • Coordinate with Production Team to setup and balance production schedule with machining capacities at each production station.
  • Extract the production data from SAP system to update and control production status, overview and foresee the risks of production stop due to materials shortage, quality standard, machining program or technical issues.
  • Carry out the good receiving and arranging materials into correct defined bin location in Warehouse to ensure the fastest and most effective materials moving.
  • Analyse the warehouse data such as inventory levels, safety stock, reorder point, FIFO process... to build the best service levels of warehouse equivalent to customer's demands.
  • Be willing and supportive to cooperate with other teams (CSR/Sale/Production..) to implemenet the common projects or related job flow to expedite the whole implementation process.
  • Utilize, configure, and maintain the process procurement data.
  • Other tasks assigned by Supervisor/Manager


Education, Work Experience, Skills, Certificates

  • High school diploma required; Bachelors degree preferred or relevant years of work experience
  • Good communication skill, active, quickly adapt with new environment and multiple tasks
  • Good English (writing and reading), good communication is merit.
  • SAP or other ERP experience.
  • Experience in Warehouse management/ Machinery/ Cutting tools is merit
  • Understanding of procurement and supply chain processes
  • Customer relationship management: understand the organization of internal customer groups, key users, and the characteristics of these customers.  Strive to understand customer requirements and use this information to create effective strategies and make timely decisions.
  • Data management; be skilled in analytics and be able to maintain key data and leverage raw data to organize and prioritize data for decision making.
