Position Summary

**Previous experience in manufacturing, production scheduling, customer service, inventory control, or production administration preferred.


The Waterbase Production Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the daily production schedule for waterbase manufacturing. This position serves as the primary link between Customer Service and Production to ensure customer orders are reviewed, scheduled appropriately, and communicated accurately. The role also coordinates the raw material and packaging requirements necessary to support the production schedule and provides administrative support through batch ticket issuance, product labeling, inventory cycle counting, and schedule-performance tracking.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Production Scheduling and Material Coordination

  • Receive and review customer orders entered into the system for completeness and production requirements.
  • Schedule waterbase products for production based on customer requirements, tank capabilities, available capacity, raw material availability, and production priorities.
  • Assign products to the appropriate production tanks while considering batch size, equipment capability, product compatibility, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Maintain and update the waterbase production schedule as orders, priorities, or operating conditions change.
  • Coordinate schedule changes with Production, Customer Service, Warehouse, Purchasing, and other affected departments.
  • Initiate packaging and raw material requests to the appropriate departments as dictated by the production schedule.
  • Enter and coordinate raw material transfer requests from the ONA and Merritt warehouses to ensure materials are available to support scheduled production.
  • Monitor material requirements against the production schedule and identify potential shortages or timing issues before they impact production.

Customer Service Coordination

  • Confirm planned production dates and expected product availability with Customer Service.
  • Attend the daily Customer Service meeting/call and provide current production status, order updates, schedule changes, delays, and anticipated availability.
  • Proactively communicate issues that may affect customer commitments or production dates.
  • Assist Customer Service in establishing realistic production expectations for new or expedited orders.

Schedule Performance

  • Track actual production performance against the established schedule.
  • Identify missed or delayed production and communicate schedule impacts.
  • Maintain visibility of open orders, scheduled orders, completed production, and outstanding requirements.
  • Assist Production leadership in identifying recurring causes of schedule disruption and opportunities to improve schedule attainment.

Production Documentation

  • Issue accurate batch tickets to the production floor according to the approved production schedule.
  • Print and provide finished-product labels to Production as required.
  • Verify that batch documentation and labels correspond with the correct product and scheduled production requirements.
  • Maintain organized production scheduling and related documentation.

Inventory Support

  • Assist with cycle counting of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods as required.
  • Communicate inventory discrepancies that could affect scheduled production.
  • Support inventory accuracy and reconciliation activities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, production scheduling, customer service, inventory control, or production administration preferred.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and related business systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage changing priorities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work closely with Production, Customer Service, Quality, Warehouse, Purchasing, and Supply Chain personnel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
